Individuals Missing Concussion Training

Here is the link to access all GRAL online training courses--New Referee, New Strokes & Turns, Returning Strokes & Turns, Starter, Clerk of Course, and Head Table Worker. The link also includes the coaches test. You will be directed to the Thinkific website where you need to choose the correct course and either create an account or login if you have used the system in the past.

Referee Training

New this Year: officials currently certified through the high school swim associations (NFHS Swimming) will only be required to take the GRAL test to gain GRAL certification and will not have to shadow during the season.

New referee training includes:

1. Attend the in person referee training.

2. Take the 2026 referee test (includes ref test, starter test, and clerk test).

3. Take the 2026 returning strokes and turns training. *If USA certified, strokes and turns training is not required.

New referee in-person training sessions will be held on the following dates. Choose one to attend virtually:

Returning referee training includes:

1. Attend the virtual Ref Roundtable.

2. Take the 2026 referee test (includes ref test, starter test, and clerk test).

3. Take the 2026 returning strokes and turns training. *If USA certified, strokes and turns training is not required.

The test for new S&T officials is currently available online. It cannot be taken until after the virtual training classes are held, and will be added to the Thinkific website after the virtual training classes are held.

New Strokes and Turns: Be sure to bring THIS TRAINING CARD with you to your walks.

Returning strokes and turns officials must complete the online training course and test every other year.

NEW starter training includes the online training and test labeled NEW starter.  Returning starters take the RETURNING starter test only.

All coaches, referees, strokes & turn judges, and starters are required to complete concussion training. Below are links to the options for the online concussion training. Choose only one option; you don’t have to complete both. When you finish the training, you must screenshot your completion certificate and send it to [email protected]. This training only has to be completed one time--it is good for as long as you are with GRAL.
